Junior Church at St Lukes welcomes children of all ages. The sessions are fun and informal and seek to introduce young people to the church. Our family church service begins at 11am and the children process out after the Collect to continue their worship in the church hall. Some parents accompany the younger children and help out with the activities, whilst others remain in church and enjoy the worship. Most sessions involve a topical bible story, prayers and either interactive play or arts and craft exercises.

The children come back into church for a blessing and are encouraged to share their work with the rest of the congregation at the end of the service.

Approximately once a month the children gather for a Sing-a-long session with Mary Noyes – our choir leader.

Throughout the year we celebrate all the major festivals with special projects carried out at Easter, Mothering Sunday, Harvest and Christmas. The children also take part in a  Christmas Play the week before Christmas – directed by Mary, and we hold a delightful Crib service on Christmas Eve where all the children dress up and perform the nativity.
