Everyone is very welcome at all these services.  Holy Week is quite different from any other week of the year: it is a time to get closer to the events in Jerusalem that shaped our faith, a time to enter fully into the commitment that God makes to us in Jesus and the difficulties that his disciples had at the time with what he was saying and doing.  We, like the disciples, need to spend time through this week close to Christ.

Every Thursday morning at 10.00 there is a quiet Eucharist at St Luke’s, followed by coffee.  Everyone is welcome.

Admission of children to communion:

The Anglican parishes of Kew are working together to offer both preparation and admission to communion to all baptised children in Years 4,5, and 6.  The course will consist of 6 sessions, lasting about 45 minutes, and will begin in the first week of the summer term.  All children will be admitted to communion at the Parish Eucharist of the church which they regularly attend on Sunday 6th June, Corpus Christi.

As a result of our collaboration, the clergy and lay people of the three parishes are able to offer three sessions each week.  These will be:

·         Saturdays at 9.30 a.m.  St Anne’s

·         Mondays at 3.30 p.m.  The Queen’s School

·         Thursdays at 4.30 p.m.  The Barn Church in Marksbury Avenue

All sessions will use the same material, so should your child be unable to attend their usual class, they would be very welcome to join another for that week.  At least two of the 6 sessions will involve parental attendance: these dates will be available at the first session.  If your child has not been baptised, the course will offer special preparation for their baptism, and this can be included in the service.

If you would like your child to be admitted to communion at your parish church, please fill out the form below and send it to St Luke’s Parish Office.  If you would like more information about admission to communion or the content of the course, please contact Fr Peter (8392 1425).

Music:

Kew Community Choir: St Luke’s, Thursdays 7.45 – 8.15

Everyone is welcome to attend – a range of songs are practiced, from the Beatles to John Rutter.  There is no requirement to be able to read music, just come along & sing!

Barn Church Choir: practice starts at 5.30 p.m. on Sundays.  New members always welcome!
